Stella's ClassroomNotes
Real strategies from a classroom, for parents raising screen-savvy kids
A guided workbook for kids & teens

Teach your child to beat Roblox at its own game , on purpose, not by accident.

The Roblox Hero Challenge is a 14-day, kid-led workbook that helps children build their own off-switch, instead of parents having to be the off-switch every single day.

GAME BRAIN HERO BRAIN
This is where most kids start the challenge. The book is built to shift this balance, one Hero Battle at a time.

Sound familiar?

You've probably said some version of these words this week.

Most parents don't want to ban Roblox. They just want their child to be able to stop without a fight, without ten warnings, without the meltdown that follows.

  • 01"Five more minutes" from your child has never once meant five minutes.
  • 02Homework gets rushed, skipped, or forgotten because "I was just finishing a round."
  • 03Bedtime keeps sliding later, and mornings keep getting harder.
  • 04You've become the timer, the referee, and the villain, every single evening.
  • 05Taking the device away works for a day, then the same battle starts again.

I'm not a psychologist and I'm not a gaming expert. I'm a teacher. I see the same thing play out in my classroom every week, bright kids, tired from staying up gaming, distracted, short-tempered, struggling to focus on the lesson in front of them.

What I noticed is that telling kids to "just stop playing" almost never works. What works is giving them a way to want to stop a system that makes self-control feel like part of the game, not a punishment taken away from it. That's what became the Game Brain vs Hero Brain System, and eventually, this workbook.

The system inside the book

Two players are living inside your child's mind. Only one of them is winning right now.

The whole workbook is built around a simple idea kids can actually picture and use in the moment they're tempted to keep playing.

Player one

The Game Brain

  • Wants "just one more round," always
  • Feeds on streaks, rewards and unfinished levels
  • Gets louder the longer a screen is on
  • Doesn't care about homework, sleep, or tomorrow
Player two

The Hero Brain

  • Can pause, choose, and stop on purpose
  • Gets stronger every time it's used, like a muscle
  • Turns homework and sleep into "quests," not chores
  • Is the part of your child this book trains, daily
Inside the workbook

8 chapters. 5 Hero Battles. One 14-day challenge.

Every chapter is written directly to your child, in their language, not a lecture aimed at them from the outside.

From the classroom

I built this workbook after years of seeing the same pattern in my own classroom, not because I ran a scientific study, but because it's the thing I noticed, over and over, in kids I actually teach.

I don't have customer reviews to show you yet, this is a new workbook. If you try it with your child, I'd genuinely love to hear how it goes, and with your permission, I'll add your story here.

Questions parents ask

FAQ

How is the workbook delivered?

As a downloadable PDF, sent straight to the email you use at checkout. You can print it at home or have your child work through it on a tablet or phone.

What age range is this for?

It's written for children roughly 8–15, with simpler language earlier in the book and more independence expected by the 14-Day Challenge chapter.

Does my child need to stop playing Roblox?

No. The workbook isn't built around quitting, it's built around your child learning to notice and choose, so playing doesn't take over homework, sleep, or family time.

How involved do I need to be as a parent?

As little or as much as you like. There's a Parent Signature Box in the 14-Day Challenge for a quick daily check-in, but your child can work through most of the book independently.

What if my child loses interest halfway through?

The book expects that, Chapter 6 covers exactly what to do "when the Game Brain wins sometimes," and the challenge is designed so a missed day doesn't mean starting over.

Is the guarantee real?

Yes. If it hasn't helped after 30 days of genuine use, you'll get a full refund.

Give your child the off-switch they can use themselves.

Not another rule from you to fight against a system your child runs on their own.
